The ninth stop of the 2025 CHAU-SHI Series – Wealthy Family Open, with a total purse of NT$3.5 million, concluded successfully yesterday (3rd) at Ta Kang Shan Golf Club in Kaohsiung, where Tsai Kai-jen defeated Tsai Tsung-yu in a playoff to claim the title and NT$1,000,000 winner’s prize. Today, the tournament hosted its 18-hole Pro-Am, featuring 35 professional golfers paired with over 100 amateur participants from various sectors.

The Pro-Am adopted the New Scramble format, and the team led by professional golfer Hung Chao-hsin and three amateur partners combined for a stellar 61 (−11) to win the team championship. Each amateur teammate received a Yamaha RMX VD hybrid as their prize.

During the Pro-Am banquet, every VIP guest was presented with a NT$5,800 gift set, including a magnetic power bank and premium selfie stick. The organizers also enhanced the lucky draw with NT$500,000 in Mai Ta Kang gift vouchers, open to both guests and professionals. Players additionally received bonus prizes such as BORN TO WIN ProV1X golf balls and BORN TO WIN rangefinders.

The biggest surprise of the night came from Chairman Hung Tien-ming, captain of the BORN TO WIN Golf Team, who personally sponsored additional raffle prizes — including four iPhone 17s, five sets each of Mizuno JPX Pro M-15 and Mizuno JPX 925 Forged 7-iron sets, and a putter from the 2017 Masters valued at NT$200,000 — all available for guests and players to win.

The event’s title sponsor is Chairman Wong Chau-shi, with the BORN TO WIN Golf Team serving as the single-stop presenting sponsor, TPGA as organizer, and Ta Kang Shan Golf Club as co-organizer.

This marks the second consecutive year that the BORN TO WIN Golf Team has presented a TPGA Taiwan Tour event — since last year, the first time in TPGA history that a single golf team has served as a title sponsor for a professional tournament.

The original purse was NT$3 million, which the BORN TO WIN Golf Team raised by NT$500,000 last year to NT$3.5 million, increasing the champion’s prize from NT$500,000 to NT$650,000. This year, the team added another NT$500,000 directly to the winner’s purse, bringing it to NT$1,000,000. In addition, during yesterday’s award ceremony, Chairman Hung boosted the runner-up prize from NT$250,000 to NT$450,000.

Founded just two years ago, the BORN TO WIN Golf Team was established by Chairman Hung Tien-ming, who set the membership fee at NT$1,000,000 with the vision of building a premier and socially responsible golf team. Members come from across Taiwan and share a passion for philanthropy — including donating ambulances and actively engaging in community welfare, demonstrating their commitment to giving back.

Chairman Hung has pledged to continue sponsoring this tournament next year, with hopes of offering even more prize money and gifts for both players and guests.
