2025 Trust Golf Asian Mixed 2 Press Release

2025/8/13

Jointly sanctioned and organized by Thailand’s Trust Golf, the PGA of Taiwan (TPGA), and the Taiwan Ladies Professional Golf Association (TLPGA), the “2025 Trust Golf Asian Mixed” will hold its second tournament from August 14–16 at Lake View Resort & Golf Club in Cha-Am, Hua Hin, Thailand. This event, also the 11th stop of this year’s Taiwan Tour, features a total of 132 male and female players from nine countries, including TPGA Taiwan Tour players, TLPGA Taiwan Tour players, and professional and amateur golfers recommended and invited by Trust Golf.

This tournament marks the first time the Thailand Trust Golf, TLPGA, and TPGA have jointly sanctioned an international-level event, and the first time TPGA and TLPGA have co-sanctioned a tournament overseas, each sending male and female players abroad to compete. A total of three tournaments will be held in the series, with the first having concluded from July 24–26.

Thailand’s Thanyakon Khrongpha will seek to defend his title, while first-leg runner-up Sarut Vongchaisit, third-place Thai female player Nook Sukapan, and American Shawn Lu will aim to take another step forward.

From Taiwan, best-finishing player in the first leg, Chan Shih-chang (T7), as well as Lu Sun-yi (T9) and the top Taiwanese female finisher, An Ho-yu, will all be looking to challenge for the title and improve their results.

The “Trust Golf Asian Mixed” series consists of three tournaments, each offering a total prize purse of 5 million Thai baht (approx. NT$4.55 million). Each tournament will be played over 54 holes in three rounds of stroke play, with male and female players’ scores combined in a single leaderboard. The 132 participants comprise 40 TPGA Taiwan Tour male professionals, 40 TLPGA Taiwan Tour female professionals, 40 male professionals recommended and invited by Trust Golf, and 12 amateurs (seven male and five female). After two rounds, the top 60 players and ties will advance to the final round. The winner’s prize is 750,000 baht (approx. NT$682,500), runner-up earns 500,000 baht (approx. NT$455,000), and third place takes home 300,000 baht (approx. NT$278,000).

The TPGA field includes 40 players from Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, and the United States. The TLPGA field features 40 players from Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, and Malaysia. Trust Golf’s invited and recommended players include 52 male and female golfers from Thailand, Scotland, Singapore, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, bringing the total to participants from nine countries.

Top TPGA contenders in the field include the 2024 Taiwan Tour’s top 34 money leaders: money leader Suteepat Prateeptienchai of Thailand; No. 3 Liu Yong-hua (TPE); No. 4 Wang Wei-hsuan; No. 8 Su Chin-hung; No. 12 Ho Yu-cheng; No. 13 Ho Chin-hung; No. 14 Shota Bandai (USA); No. 16 Shen Wei-cheng; and No. 17 Chan Shih-chang. Also competing from Thailand are No. 11 Tawit, No. 23 Wawan, and No. 25 Poom.

This mixed-gender event will be staged at Lake View Resort & Golf Club. The first leg was played on the C and D courses, while this week’s second leg will be contested on the A and B courses. Since male and female professionals will be paired together, teeing grounds differ between genders, with a distance difference of 12%. The men’s professional tees measure 6,934 yards (first leg: 7,081 yards) and the women’s professional tees measure 6,131 yards (first leg: 6,204 yards). Lake View Resort & Golf Club is located in the popular Hua Hin seaside resort area, about a 3.5-hour drive south of Bangkok.

Fresh off his victory at last week’s Qing Lian HDF Open at Changhua Golf Club — his third Taiwan Tour title this year — Wang Wei-hsuan, who tied for 19th in the first leg in July, is even more confident heading into this week’s event.
