2025 CHAU-SHI Series Dinyue Open Pre-Tournament Press Release

Date: July 14, 2025

The CHAU-SHI Series – Dinyue Open, with a total prize purse of NT$3 million, will take place from July 16 at Taifong Golf Club in Changhua, featuring a 72-hole, four-round competition. This marks the first time Dinyue Restaurant Co., Ltd, after two consecutive years of title-sponsoring the ThreeBond TPGA Challenge Tour, has upgraded to host a TPGA Tour event. The tournament will see 140 players from seven countries, including nearly all of Taiwan’s top golfers, promising a thrilling competition.

This is the 7th event of the 2025 TPGA Tour and the 5th event of the CHAU-SHI Series. The champion will earn NT$500,000, while the runner-up takes home NT$250,000. After the first two rounds, the top 50 players (including ties) will advance to the final two rounds.

Dinyue Restaurant Co., Ltd first co-hosted a ThreeBond Challenge Tour event with Recoco Corporation Ltd in 2023. In 2024, Dinyue became the sole title sponsor of another Challenge Tour event. This year, to provide a bigger stage for Taiwan’s golfers, Dinyue announced its upgrade to a TPGA Tour title sponsor.

The TPGA Tour officially became part of the Official World Golf Ranking system on January 5, 2025, making it one of the recognized international tours that award world ranking points.

In addition to local players, this event features golfers from six other countries and regions, including Australia, Italy, Japan, Thailand, the United States, and Hong Kong. The field consists of 126 professional players (including 93 from Taiwan and 23 from Japan) and 14 Taiwanese amateurs.

On July 15, the event will hold an 18-hole pro-am tournament and a pre-tournament press conference. Thirty-two professionals will be paired with more than 110 amateur participants, followed by an evening pro-am dinner. Official competition will begin on July 16.

During tonight’s prestigious 2025 International Professional Golf Grand Gala at Dinyue, CEO Wang Ching-jui stated:
“Just as Taiwan’s badminton athletes have achieved Olympic glory with champions like the men’s doubles team Lee and Wang, we hope that young Taiwanese golfers will take advantage of events of this caliber to hone their skills and eventually stand on the world stage.”

Dinyue Chairman Chiang Ching-lung announced that not only will the Dinyue Open continue next year, but the total prize purse will increase from NT$3 million to NT$5 million to encourage even better performances from the players this year and next.

Today’s pro-am was played under the new scramble format, where professional golfer Su Chin-hung and three amateurs combined for a 14-under 58 to win the title. Each amateur received a TaylorMade Flextech golf bag.

The CHAU-SHI Series is fully sponsored by Mercuries Group Honorary Chairman Wong Chau-shi and has been held annually since 2021. This tournament is title-sponsored by Dinyue Restaurant Co., Ltd, organized by The PGA of Taiwan (TPGA), and co-hosted by Taifong Golf Club.

The CHAU-SHI Series was initiated by Wong Chau-shi, one of the founders of Mercuries Group and its Honorary Chairman. Due to the significant reduction in TPGA Tour events and prize funds caused by the pandemic in 2021, Wong personally committed to funding six tournaments, each with NT$2 million in prize money, totaling NT$12 million, to sustain the tour’s structure. Now in its fifth year, the series continues under the same model, with Wong sponsoring NT$1.5 million per event. The number of CHAU-SHI Series events has increased from eight last year to ten this year, totaling NT$15 million in sponsorship and helping the TPGA Tour reach 20 events this season.

The CHAU-SHI Series also offers a special annual prize for the season’s money leader: an additional NT$200,000 sponsored by HONLIN CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD Chairman Lin Kuo-erh, along with an invitation to next year’s Taiwan Mercuries Masters.

This tournament has drawn an outstanding field, including 17 of last year’s top 20 money leaders. Players already holding a TPGA win this year—such as Su Chin-hung, Chang Wei-lun, Shen Wei-cheng, Italy’s Gabriele De Barba, Wang Wei-hsuan, and Huang I-tseng—are all looking for their second victory of the season. Other notable names include Lu Wei-chih, Chan Shih-chang, Hung Chien-yao, Liu Yong-hua, and Japan-based Yu Sung-po. Adding to the competition is Thailand’s Tawit Polthai, last year’s TPGA champion and 11th on the money list, now ranked sixth this season.
