The CHAU-SHI Series Din Yue Open, with a total purse of NT$3 million, will take place from July 16 at Taifong Golf Club in Changhua. The tournament spans four rounds (72 holes) and marks the first time Dinyue Restaurant Co., Ltd. steps up to title-sponsor a Taiwan Tour event after two consecutive years hosting a single-stage ThreeBond TPGA Challenge Tour event. The field features 140 players from seven countries, including nearly all of Taiwan’s elite competitors—promising an exciting contest.
This event is the 7th in the 2025 TPGA Taiwan Tour and the 5th of the CHAU-SHI Series. The champion will earn NT$500,000, with NT$250,000 awarded to the runner-up. After the first two rounds, the top 50 players (including ties) will advance to the final two rounds.
In 2023, Dinyue Restaurant Co., Ltd. co-title sponsored a single-stage ThreeBond Challenge Tour event with Recoco Corporation Ltd.; in 2024, they hosted another Challenge Tour event solo. This year, to offer Taiwan’s golfers a grander stage, they have upgraded to a full Taiwan Tour title sponsorship.
As of January 5, this tour is officially part of the World Ranking system, standing alongside many international tours and earning world ranking points.
Aside from host country Taiwan, the field includes professionals from six other countries/regions: Australia, Italy, Japan, Thailand, the United States, and Hong Kong. In total, 126 professional players are entered—including 93 from Taiwan and 23 from Japan—along with 14 Taiwanese amateur golfers.
A one-day 18-hole Pro-Am and press conference is scheduled for July 15, pairing 32 professionals with over 110 amateur players, followed by an evening gala. The first round of competition begins on July 16.
The CHAU-SHI Series is title-sponsored by Mercuries Group Honorary Chairman Wong Chau-shi and has been held annually since 2021; this marks its fifth consecutive year. The Din Yue Open is co-organized with TPGA and hosted by Taifong Golf Club.
Founded by one of Mercuries Group’s co-founders and Honorary Chairman Wong Chau-shi, the CHAU-SHI Series was launched to stabilize Taiwan’s tour amid pandemic disruptions. From 2021 onwards, Wong personally funded six tournaments at NT$2 million each (NT$12 million total). Following that model, the series has continued annually; this year’s tour expanded to 20 events (up from 8 last year), with 9 events under his sponsorship.
The series also features a special “Money Leader” bonus: the season’s top earner receives an additional NT$200,000 from HONLIN CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD. and secures an invite to next year’s Taiwan Mercuries Masters.
The field is deep: 17 of last season’s top‑20 money earners are competing, including Taiwanese event winners Su Chin-hung, Chang Wei-lun, Shen Wei-cheng, Italy’s Gabriele De Barba, Wang Wei-hsuan, and Huang Yi-tseng—all seeking a second tournament victory this season—plus Lu Wei-chih, Chan Shih-chang, Hung Chien‑yao, Liu Yong-hua, and Japan-based Yu Sung-pai. Also in the field is Thailand’s Tawit Polthai, a Tour winner last year who finished 11th on the money list and is currently 6th—adding to the tournament’s competitiveness.
