This year marks the third consecutive year the tournament has integrated a charitable component. Led by Lin Kuo-er, Chairman of Green Forest Enterprise, and enthusiastically supported by Liao Nien-chi, Chairman of The Royal Kuan-Hsi Golf Club, the philanthropic platform continues to flourish within this professional golf tournament. True to Chairman Lin's motto, "Kindness is contagious, and good deeds spread," the charity initiative—launched in 2024—has seen growing contributions year after year. The overwhelming outpouring of love and support has inspired Chairman Lin to commit to continuing the initiative next year, following a total of NT1.64millionraisedin2024andNT2.18 million last year.
Today's pro-am featured 32 professional players paired with over 100 amateur guests in a New Scramble format. Professional Shen Wei-cheng and his three amateur teammates combined for a score of 13-under-par 59 to claim the pro-am title, with each guest receiving a set of Honma IHA-Radiant Second-Generation Utility Woods.
The tournament is title-sponsored individually by Wong Chau-shi, Honorary Chairman of the Mercuries Group. The Royal Kuan-Hsi Golf Club and Green Forest Enterprise Co., Ltd. serve as co-title sponsors, with the Taiwan Professional Golf Association (TPGA) as the organizer and The Royal Kuan-Hsi Golf Club as the co-organizer.
The field comprises 133 players, including 124 professionals and 9 amateurs from five countries: Canada, Japan, Thailand, the United States, and Taiwan. Chang Wei-lun returns to defend his title, with the champion earning NT500,000andtherunner−uptakinghomeNT250,000.
Measuring 7,026 yards, The Royal Kuan-Hsi Golf Club features significant green undulations and heavy grain, making putting the ultimate key to success. Precision and touch around the greenside chipping areas will also present a stern test for the players' skills.
Late Chairman Liao Wan-ying of The Royal Kuan-Hsi Golf Club was a lifelong supporter of both men's and women's professional golf in Taiwan. Continuing this legacy 23 years later, the club partnered with the TPGA in 2022 to host Taiwan Tour events, fulfilling its corporate social responsibility to promote domestic golf development by serving as a single-tournament title sponsor for the fifth consecutive year.
Green Forest Enterprise Chairman Lin Kuo-er returns as a co-title sponsor for this event. Having supported the tournament for five straight years, Chairman Lin brought his three-year experience of running women's charity golf events into the Royal Chasing Dreams Open starting in 2024. Marking his seventh year integrating a charitable platform into professional golf, Lin expressed his gratitude to close friends and participants whose generosity has made it possible to continue the partnership with the Royal Chasing Dreams Open next year.
Charitable donations raised jointly by Chairman Lin Kuo-er and Chairman Liao Nien-chi were distributed equally among six beneficiary organizations, with NT$415,000 allocated to each: 1. Shih-Guang Foundation 2. Taiwan Alzheimer's Disease Association 3. JuJu MaMa Children's Education and Care Association 4. Yu-Cheng Social Welfare Foundation 5. Taiwan Happiness Village Emotion Education Association 6. Family of Joy Social Welfare Foundation.
During the pro-am awards banquet, Chairman Lin reflected on the initial hesitation of committing to a charity golf event every year given the scale of his company, noting that the cycle of goodwill inspired by friends and participants makes him proud to continue the collaboration, thanking his close friends and everyone for their love and support, and expressing his joy to continue this charity event with the Royal Chasing Dreams Open next year with the continued support of all parties.
Chairman Liao Nien-chi shared that his late father deeply loved golf, having supported men's, women's, and senior professional tours and nurtured amateur players over two decades ago. Liao views upholding this passion as a mission and testament to his father's dedication, ensuring The Royal Kuan-Hsi Golf Club remains a pillar of Taiwan's golf industry. Noting the mutual understanding shared with Chairman Lin—encapsulated by the sentiment, "If you host it, I'll support it"—Liao emphasized the club's readiness to provide a pristine course condition for players to perform at their best.
He also mentioned that whenever a major tournament approaches, The Royal Kuan-Hsi Golf Club makes comprehensive preparations to provide players with the best possible conditions to showcase their finest skills.
The awards banquet featured a touching performance by the Family of Joy. Although their dance routines were not entirely professional, they were earnest and adorable. The Family of Joy firmly believes that every life has its own stage. From learning and rehearsing to the official performance, parents accompanied their children in singing and dancing, breaking through limitations together. Through successive performances, the public is able to witness the efforts, courage, and talent of individuals with disabilities. For them, the stage is not merely a place to perform, but a place where children are seen, families rediscover strength, and society fosters deeper mutual understanding and acceptance, earning the warmest applause from attendees.
