2026 CHAU-SHI Series Wealthy Family Open Round 4 August 15, 2026 The 2026 CHAU-SHI Series - Wealthy Family Open concluded today at the National Golf Country Club in Miaoli. Starting the day with a two-stroke lead, Wang Wei-hsuan initially struggled with his putter and was caught by his challengers. However, he regained his touch on the greens to pull away from his fierce rival, Hung Chien-yao, carding a 4-under-par 68 to finish with a four-round total of 20-under-par 268. He secured a three-stroke victory and a total prize of NT$750,000 (after an additional NT$250,000 bonus), marking his second consecutive win in as many weeks. Following his victory at last week's Qing Lian HDF Open, this win marks back-to-back titles for Wang, his second of the year on the Taiwan Tour, and the 10th professional title of his career since turning pro in 2019. Hung Chien-yao shot a 69 to finish as the runner-up at 17-under-par 271, three strokes back, earning a total of NT$400,000 (after an additional NT$150,000 bonus). Japanese player Rinkei Shinzato carded a 66, Chang Wei-lun shot a 67, and Thai player Jaturon Duangphaichoom posted a 70, with all three finishing tied for third place at 274 overall. Chen Hsuan-yi, currently a junior at the University of Houston, shot a 72 to finish at 5-under-par 283. He was the only amateur to make the cut, finishing in a tie for 35th place. This event is the sixth of eight tournaments on this year's CHAU-SHI Series, with a base prize purse of NT$3 million. At today's awards ceremony, Chairman Hung Tien-ming of the Wealthy Family Golf Team announced a total of NT$500,000 in additional bonuses for the top three finishers: NT$250,000 for the champion, NT$150,000 for the runner-up, and NT$100,000 for third place. The tournament is title-sponsored individually by Wong Chau-shi, with the Wealthy Family Golf Team serving as the single-tournament title sponsor, the TPGA as the organizer, and the National Golf Country Club as the co-organizer. After his victory, Wang thanked the sponsors, organizers, the host club, and his support team—Fubon Financial Holding, the Yeangder Group, Deng Tian Construction, and his family and wife. He noted that these consecutive wins provide a major boost in confidence as he prepares for upcoming Japan Golf Tour (JGTO) qualifying school and Asian Tour events. Wang's father highlighted the depth of his support, noting that he has walked every hole of all 432 holes Wang has played across his six tournament appearances over the past seven weeks. Starting with a two-stroke lead, Wang birdied four holes on the front nine but struggled with the faster green speeds, recording three bogeys due to three-putts on the 2nd, 6th, and 9th holes. Meanwhile, Hung carded three birdies with zero bogeys, drawing even with Wang at 17-under overall by the turn. Wang adjusted his putting pace on the back nine, reclaiming the lead when Hung bogeyed the par-3 11th. Both birdied the par-5 13th, but Hung bogeyed the par-3 14th to give Wang a two-stroke lead. Although Hung birdied the par-5 16th to cut the lead to one, Wang responded by sinking a 9-foot birdie putt on the 17th. He sealed the victory on the 18th hole with a birdie, winning by three shots. Wang stated that winning consecutive titles while leading for three days was a different experience compared to his comeback wins last year. He attributed this victory to his stable long game, which created numerous scoring opportunities, and his putting adjustments during the final three rounds and the back nine today. After seven weeks and six tournaments, he plans to rest for three weeks before heading to Japan for qualifying school in early September and preparing for two major Asian Tour events in Taiwan. Chairman Hung Tien-ming of the Wealthy Family Golf Team praised the steady improvement of Taiwanese players, pledging the team's continued support for those pursuing international challenges. The CHAU-SHI Series was initiated by Wong Chau-shi, co-founder of Mercuries & Associates and Honorary Chairman of the Mercuries Group, who stepped forward during the pandemic in 2021 to support the Taiwan Tour and has continued his dedication for six consecutive years with a sponsored prize purse of NT$1.5 million per event. Highlights of the final two rounds (August 14 and 15) will be broadcast via delayed recording on August 25 and 26 starting at 16:00. Platforms include the TPGA Facebook page and YouTube channel, Yahoo Sports, the TPGA official website, LINE Today, the LINE Golfourit channel, and Zhilin Sports. Additionally, Golf Media will broadcast the event across 20 golf courses nationwide.
