Young Taiwanese player Shapiyate Mako carded the first hole-in-one of his professional career, adding an eagle and several birdies for an impressive 6-under-par 66. This brought his two-round total to 8-under-par 136, propelling him into the sole lead. Taiwanese standout Chang Wei-lun carded a 70, joining two Japanese players—Nobuaki Oda and Shunichiro Morioka, who shot rounds of 68 and 70 respectively—in a tie for second place at 7-under-par 137 overall. Lu Wei-chih posted a 69, while Su Chin-hung and Japan’s Yusuke Iida both shot 70s, putting all three at a two-round total of 138 to share fifth place. A group of nine players are tied for eighth place at 5-under-par 139, including Poopirat Klinkesorn (66), Naoki Sekito (68), Yoshikuwa Yuta (68), Tsai Tsung-yu (69), Ian Peng (70), Jaeil Kim (72), Suteepat Prateeptienchai (72), first-round co-leader Hung Chien-yao (73), and Tawit Polthai (73). At the conclusion of the second round, the cut line fell at 1-under-par 143, with a total of 51 players advancing to the final two rounds of the weekend. He noted that his approach shots were sharp today, while his driving and chipping met high standards. Five of his seven birdies came from 9-12 foot putts, alongside a chip-in from 15 yards on the 7th hole and an 18-foot birdie putt on the 18th, which was his longest conversion of the day. He shared that having played and practiced at Hsinfeng numerous times since his amateur days, he is intimately familiar with the danger zones on every hole. His strategy centered on maintaining swing consistency, capitalizing whenever opportunities arose, and the execution paid off brilliantly. Nobuaki Oda carded five birdies and one bogey today. He successfully capitalized on all four par-5s with precise up-and-downs, and added a 16-foot birdie putt on the par-3 15th hole, fueled by exceptional chipping and putting. He noted that the course presents a high level of challenge with narrow fairways, smaller greens, and brisk winds, prompting him to rely on his 2-iron off the tee and use his driver only four times. Shunichiro Morioka teed off from the 1st hole and experienced a rough front nine, carding three bogeys and a single bird for a 38, which included two three-putt bogeys due to misjudged pace. Despite these frustrations and uncertain reads, he managed to pick up strokes elsewhere, highlighted by a 12-foot birdie conversion on the 17th—his longest of the day. He estimated that poor putting cost him at least two to three strokes. The four-round, 72-hole tournament features a total purse of USD $120,000 (approximately NT$3.84 million), with the champion taking home USD $21,000 (approximately NT$67.2 million/NT$672,000). Spectators are welcome to attend the tournament on-site.
