2026 Ambassador ADT Final Round July 17, 2026 The 2026 Ambassador ADT, featuring a total prize purse of US$120,000 (approximately NT$3.84 million), concluded today at the Taipei Golf Club in Taoyuan. Entering the final round trailing by five shots, Taiwanese professional Hung Chien-yao staged an incredible comeback, carding a 5-under-par 66 to finish with a four-round total of 280 (-4). His performance secured him the championship and the winner’s prize of US$21,000 (approximately NT$672,000). This marks Hung’s third ADT career victory. It is his first major trophy on the Taiwan Tour and international circuit in over two years, following his win at the Yeangder Open on November 24, 2023. His previous ADT titles include the 2013 Changhua ADT and the 2022 Taifong ADT. During the awards ceremony, Hung expressed his joy at winning a tournament organized by the Yeangder Group, which has supported him throughout his career. He extended his gratitude to Yeangder Group Chairman Emmet Hsu, President Brian Hsu, and SunFlower Cotton for their long-term backing, as well as his other sponsors, the EverAid Group and All Ring Tech, and his family, wife, and father-in-law. Taiwan’s Wang Wei-hsuan and Thailand’s Runchanapong Youprayong both finished the final round with a 68, while Su Chin-hung carded a 70. The trio finished tied for second place with a four-round total of 282, just two strokes behind the leader, with each earning US$9,640 (approximately NT$308,000). Hsieh Ting-wei achieved a rare feat on the 4th hole, sinking a hole-in-one from 180 yards with an 8-iron. He received NT$10,000 in cash from the club and a complimentary one-night stay in the Presidential Suite at the Lishan Guest House, courtesy of the Da-An Group. Hung Chien-yao began his final day five shots behind the overnight leader, Chan Shih-chang. He recorded an eagle and a birdie on the front nine to finish in 33. His eagle on the 7th hole came after a brilliant 255-yard approach shot that landed 3 feet from the cup. On the back nine, he sank birdie putts of 13 and 14 feet on the 13th and 14th holes, bringing his total to 3-under par. Realizing he was within striking distance of the title, he adopted an aggressive approach on the par-5 16th to secure another birdie, reaching 4-under for the tournament. As the front-running Chan struggled with his putting and other contenders failed to pull ahead, Hung successfully completed his comeback to claim the title. After the round, Hung remarked that starting five shots back, he hadn't expected to win. Knowing the challenges of the Taipei Golf Club, his strategy was to remain calm and steady, treating every par as a success and focusing on avoiding errors. He noted that the win is significant not only because it occurred at a tournament sponsored by his group, but because it validates his efforts after a difficult stretch in his 14-year Asian Tour career. He added that the win provides him with renewed confidence as he balances his professional aspirations with life as a father to his six-month-old son. Chan Shih-chang, who led by three strokes heading into the final round, struggled on the greens and could not find his birdie touch. He recorded four bogeys to finish with a 75, tying for seventh place at even-par 284 alongside Lin Wei and Khavish Varadan (Malaysia). Following the conclusion of the event, Su Chin-hung, who finished tied for second, saw his ADT Order of Merit ranking rise from 13th to 9th. Chan Shih-chang also improved his ranking from 36th to 26th. Both players are set to compete in next week’s HCT ADT Open at Hsin Feng Golf Club. This 72-hole event was co-organized by the Yeangder Group, the TPGA, and the ADT. It served as the second of three consecutive ADT events in Taiwan this July and the 9th stop on the 13-tournament 2026 ADT calendar. The Yeangder Group has been a dedicated supporter of Taiwanese golf for years, with Chairman Emmet Hsu aiming to provide international platforms for young players. This initiative has historically paved the way for golfers like Chan Shih-chang, Hung Chien-yao, Hsieh Chi-hsien, and Lee Chieh-po to develop their professional careers and advance to the Asian and PGA Tours. ADT events have been included in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) since 2013, with the top 10 players on the annual Order of Merit earning qualification for the following year’s Asian Tour. Highlights of the final two rounds will be broadcast online starting at 16:00 on July 28 and July 29, available on the TPGA Facebook page, YouTube, Yahoo Sports, the TPGA website, the LINE Golfourit channel, and the Zhilin Sports channel. Additionally, Golf Media will broadcast the event across 20 golf courses nationwide.
