2026 Ambassador ADT Round 1 July 14, 2026 The 2026 Ambassador ADT, featuring a total prize purse of US$120,000, officially teed off today at the Taipei Golf Club in Taoyuan. In an extraordinary display of skill, three players recorded a hole-in-one in the same round, setting a new record for the most aces in a single round in the history of the Taiwan Professional Golf Association (TPGA) tour. Japanese players Ryo Noro and Nobuaki Oda shared the lead, both carding a 3-under-par 68. All three holes-in-one occurred on the 18th hole (151 yards). The first was recorded by Kelvin Si (Macau) using a 9-iron, followed by Justin Chan (Malaysia) and Shori Ishizuka (Japan), both using pitching wedges. For all three, this was their first professional career hole-in-one. As rewards, each player receives a NT$10,000 cash prize from the Taipei Golf Club and a complimentary one-night stay in the Presidential Suite at the Lishan Guest House, courtesy of the Da-An Group. Additionally, Kelvin Si, as the first to achieve the feat, secured a Bell & Ross watch valued at NT$130,000, provided by Dong Hui Watch. Three players are currently tied for third at 69: Taiwan's Mako Shapiyat and Yang Hsiao-che, along with Malaysia’s Shahriffuddin Ariffin. Ryo Noro’s bogey-free 68 was fueled by strong driving and approach play. Despite slower afternoon greens, he converted several birdie putts, including a 10-footer on the 18th. Nobuaki Oda also carded a 68, highlighted by two spectacular chip-ins on the 4th and 6th holes. Although he struggled slightly on the tougher 10th-12th stretch, his sharp short game kept him at the top of the leaderboard. Local favorite Mako Shapiyate relied on his long-distance driving to card five birdies. He noted that the back-nine greens were particularly challenging due to heavy grain and slower speeds, requiring more precise adjustments. Yang Hsiao-che, despite hitting only eight fairways, saved his round with an exceptional short game, needing only 22 putts throughout the day. Shahriffuddin Ariffin also finished his round with five birdies, including a chip-in on the 11th hole. This 72-hole event is co-organized by the Yeangder Group, the TPGA, and the ADT. It is the second of three consecutive ADT events in Taiwan and the 9th stop on the 13-event 2026 ADT calendar. Yeangder Group Chairman Emmet Hsu has long been committed to supporting young players' dreams of international success. His efforts, including the sponsorship of multiple ADT events, have historically provided a crucial platform for talented Taiwanese golfers to gain world ranking points and advance to the Asian Tour and eventually the PGA Tour. To continue this mission, the Yeangder Group has added the HCT ADT Open to next week's schedule, following last week’s Ever Glory ADT Open, creating a three-week, three-tournament swing in Taiwan this July. The 144-player field represents 24 nations, and with 12 of the top 13 players in the ADT Order of Merit competing, the race for the top-10 season-ending spots—which grant Asian Tour qualification—is exceptionally intense. The tournament is being played on the Taipei Golf Club’s C and D courses (6,948 yards, par 71). The course’s narrow fairways, undulating greens, and challenging rough continue to provide a rigorous test of both skill and patience for the competitors. Following the second round tomorrow, the top 50 players and ties will qualify for the final two rounds. Spectators are welcome to visit the club to witness the action, provided they follow the designated safety guidelines. Final round highlights will be broadcast online starting at 16:00 on July 28 and July 29 across platforms including TPGA’s Facebook and YouTube channels, Yahoo Sports, the TPGA website, the "Golfourit" LINE platform, and the Zhilin Sports channel.
