2026 Ambassador ADT Press Release July 13, 2026 The 2026 Ambassador ADT will be held from July 14 to 17 at the Taipei Golf Club in Taoyuan. This 72-hole stroke play event features a total prize purse of US$120,000 (approximately NT$3.84 million), with the champion set to earn US$21,000 (approximately NT$672,000). A field of 144 players from 24 countries will compete for the title, with Italy’s Gabriele De Barba seeking to defend his championship. Notably, top Taiwanese golfer Chan Shih-chang is aiming for his second career victory in this tournament, 16 years after his first. Other top contenders include the current top three in the ADT Order of Merit: Khavish Varadan (Malaysia), Nicklaus Chiam (Singapore), and Michele Ortolani (Italy), all of whom are vying for their second win of the season. Last week’s Ever Glory ADT Open winner, Nathan Han (USA), is looking to secure back-to-back victories, while Thailand’s Witchayapat Sinsrang is competing for his second title in this tournament. The event is co-organized by the Yeangder Group, the TPGA, and the ADT. This marks the first time the Yeangder Group has increased the prize purse from US$100,000 to US$120,000. It is the second of three consecutive ADT events held in Taiwan this season, and the 9th of 13 stops on the 2026 ADT calendar. This is the 9th time the Yeangder Group has partnered with the TPGA to sponsor an ADT event, and the 5th time the tournament has been title-sponsored by its affiliate, the Ambassador Hotel. Previous editions hosted at Hsin Feng Golf Club were won by Chan Shih-chang, Lin Wen-ko, Witchayapat Sinsrang, and Gabriele De Barba. Yeangder Group Chairman Emmet Hsu has long been committed to supporting young players aiming for international success. His continued sponsorship, both independently and in collaboration with other enterprises, once facilitated four ADT events in Taiwan in 2015. This initiative provided a crucial platform for players like Chan Shih-chang, Hung Chien-yao, Hsieh Chi-hsien, and Lee Chieh-po to develop their skills and earn vital Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points. By hosting this tournament, the Yeangder Group continues to create opportunities for Taiwanese players to gain international experience, boost their rankings, and eventually advance to the Asian Tour and the PGA Tour. To further support these goals, the group has added the HCT ADT Open to next week’s schedule, completing a three-week, three-tournament swing in Taiwan this July. The field comprises 82 international players (including one amateur) and 62 Taiwanese professionals representing 24 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, China, England, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Morocco, the Philippines, Scotland, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, the USA, Vietnam, and Taiwan. Twelve of the top 13 players on the current ADT Order of Merit are competing, underscoring the intensity of the field as players battle for a top-10 finish to secure a spot on next year's Asian Tour. Key local contenders include Chan Shih-chang, who finished tied for 4th last week, moving his ADT ranking from 80th to 36th. Other hopefuls include Huang Yi-tseng (now 54th in the ADT rankings), Su Chin-hung (13th in the ADT rankings), and Asian Tour regulars Lee Chieh-po and Wang Wei-hsuan. Following the first two rounds, the field will be cut to the top 50 players and ties for the final two rounds. The tournament will be played on the Taipei Golf Club’s C and D courses, totaling 6,964 yards. The course is known for its narrow fairways, undulating greens, and challenging long rough, testing both the players' skills and patience. Special Awards: Hole-in-One Prizes: NT$10,000 cash plus equivalent merchandise for holes-in-one on holes C4, C8, D2, or D9. 18th Hole Special: The first professional to hit a hole-in-one on the 18th hole (D9) will receive a Bell & Ross watch, valued at NT$130,000, courtesy of Dong Hui Watch.
