2026 CHAU-SHI Series Din Yue Open Press Release June 30, 2026 The CHAU-SHI Series – Din Yue Open, with a total purse of NT$5 million, will be held from July 1 to 4 at Taichung International Golf Club, featuring a four-round, 72-hole competition. This marks the second consecutive year that Din Yue has served as a single-event title sponsor on the Taiwan Tour after upgrading from the Challenge Tour last year. For the first time, the total purse has been increased from NT$3 million to NT$5 million, while the champion’s prize has also been raised from NT$500,000 to NT$1 million, further strengthening the competitiveness of the tournament. Wang Wei-hsuan will seek to defend his title. In 2023, Din Yue co-title sponsored the Din Yue Ju De Challenge with Ju De Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. The following year, Din Yue independently title sponsored the Din Yue Challenge. Both Challenge Tour events offered total prize money of NT$1 million. In order to provide Taiwanese players with a stronger competitive platform, Din Yue upgraded to become a title sponsor of a Taiwan Tour event last year. This year, it returns as title sponsor for the second consecutive year and has significantly increased the total purse. This tournament is the sixth event of the 2025 TPGA Taiwan Tour and the fourth event of the CHAU-SHI Series. The champion will receive NT$1 million, the runner-up NT$450,000, and third place NT$220,000. After the first two rounds, the top 50 players and ties will advance to the final two rounds. This year’s field features 144 players from seven countries, including 130 professionals and 14 amateurs, bringing together nearly all of Taiwan’s elite players. In addition to the host nation, players come from six other countries and regions: Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and the United States. The professional field includes 129 players, among them 104 Taiwanese professionals and as many as 28 Japanese players. Fourteen Taiwanese amateurs will also compete. On June 30, the tournament first held an 18-hole Pro-Am and a pre-tournament press conference. A total of 34 professionals teamed up with more than 110 amateur guests. The Pro-Am used the New Scramble format, and professional Chang Wei-lun, together with three amateur guests, shot a 55, 17-under-par, to win the title. The three amateur players each received a Honma IHA Brilliant II Hybrid provided by Fuyi Golf. Guests and players attending the Pro-Am later moved to the Starlight Banquet Hall on the second floor of Din Yue for the Pro-Am dinner. The first round will officially begin tomorrow, July 1. At this morning’s pre-tournament press conference, Din Yue CEO Wang Ching-jui said that four years ago, after market research and analysis as well as a timely opportunity, Twin Oaks Development and Din Yue selected golf as the sport to sponsor and host. The goal was to connect the sporting interests of high-end clients with the encouragement of Taiwanese professional golfers to raise their competitive level. Each year, the event has increased in level and prize money, becoming an annual highlight for Twin Oaks Development, Din Yue, and the TPGA. He also expressed hope that this year’s tournament will produce a hole-in-one, allowing a player to win the highly valuable and memorable French Bordeaux wine prize. Din Yue Director Chiang Ching-lung, Taichung International Golf Club Director Hou Sheng-ta, and TPGA Chairman Chen Jung-hsing also attended today’s press conference. The CHAU-SHI Series has been title sponsored by Mercuries Group Honorary Chairman Wong Chau-shi since 2021 and is now in its sixth consecutive year. This tournament is title sponsored by Din Yue Co., Ltd., organized by the Taiwan Professional Golfers’ Association, and co-organized by Taichung International Golf Club. The CHAU-SHI Series was initiated by Wong Chau-shi, one of the founders of Mercuries Group and Honorary Chairman of the group. Beginning in 2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic severely reduced both the number of Taiwan Tour events and total prize money, Wong personally stepped forward as the title sponsor and specially sponsored six tournaments. He contributed NT$2 million to each event, totaling NT$12 million, helping establish the basic structure of the 2021 Taiwan Tour. The series has now continued for six consecutive years under the same model, with Wong serving as title sponsor. Each CHAU-SHI Series event receives NT$1.5 million in prize money sponsorship. This year’s series consists of eight events. The CHAU-SHI Series also features a special annual money leader award. The player who finishes as the CHAU-SHI Series Order of Merit winner will receive an additional NT$250,000 prize provided by HONLIN Construction Chairman Lin Kuo-er, as well as an exemption into the following year’s Mercuries Taiwan Masters. This year’s field is filled with top players. In addition to defending champion Wang Wei-hsuan, 16 of the top 20 players from last year’s Taiwan Tour Order of Merit are competing, including Lee Chieh-po, Chan Shih-chang, Hung Chien-yao, Liu Yung-hua, Hsieh Ting-wei, and Huang Yi-tseng. This year’s Taiwan Tour winners Peng Hsiung, Chang Wei-lun, Tsai Kai-jen, and Ho Yu-cheng are also in the field, each seeking a second Taiwan Tour title this season. Nearly all of Taiwan’s elite players are present. Italy’s Gabriele De Barba and Malaysian standout Nicholas Fung are also competing for the increased prize money. Twin Oaks Development General Manager Wei Chao-liang said that the company’s continuous support of TPGA events and annual increase in prize money stem from long-term insight into its clients. Twin Oaks Development’s clients come from the top 10% of the high-end customer segment in central Taiwan, including Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Miaoli, Yunlin, and Chiayi. Data analysis found that more than half of its target clients have a habit of playing golf. Wei said that by taking the lead, the company hopes to create a more competitive platform for Taiwanese professional players and provide direct support. At the same time, Twin Oaks has long served as title sponsor of all-age super slow jogging events, continuing to regard sports culture and public health as important elements in promoting urban aesthetics. Wei added that although Twin Oaks Development is a real estate developer, it has always positioned itself as an “integrator of premium lifestyles.” Over the years, the company has invested considerable effort in this service approach. Through comprehensive integration of food, clothing, housing, transportation, education, and leisure, Twin Oaks strives to provide more complete services to both the TPGA and its residents. In terms of food, it owns the highly acclaimed dining landmark Din Yue. In fashion, it is the Taiwan general agent for the global fashion brand Giorgio Armani. In transportation, it provides seven top-level courtesy vehicles to meet residents’ transportation and dedicated car-washing needs. In education, leisure, and health, its All young Complex Sports Club not only serves residents, but has also set up a professional sports protection station at this tournament to provide expert care for professional players and high-end guests. Twin Oaks Development’s corporate philosophy is much like the development of each TPGA professional player: both require step-by-step accumulation of strength and reputation. Since its founding in 2004, Twin Oaks has built its reputation through solid architecture and service. In 2018, it resolutely established its own property management company, marking a turning point in satisfying and elevating clients’ quality of life. Over the past eight years, it has grown to 160 employees serving on the front line in five communities. Its industry reputation has attracted many high-quality senior professionals, allowing employees to perform on a professional platform, gain a strong sense of achievement, and create a win-win situation for both labor and management. Because Twin Oaks established its own property management company and committed itself to advance planning, many of its later business extensions became possible. Wei noted that the company initially provided six meals a day within its communities and later discovered strong resident demand, which led to the establishment of Din Yue restaurant. From early community courtesy car services, the company gradually expanded to dedicated car washing, beauty, body care, nail services, and more. Each year, the company reviews residents’ needs and evaluates plans in advance. This spirit is completely aligned with the self-discipline and pursuit of higher competitiveness required of professional players. Twin Oaks Development’s core values are “architecture, art, and premium lifestyle.” While title sponsoring TPGA events, the company, like professional golfers, continues to learn and improve itself. In every tournament, players must overcome challenges and seek progress, and their greatest opponent is often themselves. This closely mirrors Twin Oaks’ philosophy of constant self-reflection, understanding clients’ needs, and pursuing self-improvement. Wei concluded by expressing that he understands professional players hold themselves to extremely high standards. He said the professional side of the game should be left to the players to fully demonstrate their abilities, and he wished all players better and better performances in the tournament ahead.
