2026 CHAU-SHI Series - Mizuno Open
Round 2 update
June 5, 2026
The 2026 CHAU-SHI Series – Mizuno Open resumed the unfinished second round this morning (June 5) from 7:30 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. at Bombax Golf Club in Tainan. Wang Hsi-an, who had completed 12 holes yesterday afternoon, finished the remaining six holes today. Thanks to back-to-back birdies on the final two holes, he carded a second-round score of 70 and moved to a two-round total of 137, 7-under-par, becoming the sole leader.
The 28-year-old Wang Hsi-an had remained consistently among the leaders through the first two rounds. Starting from the 10th hole at noon yesterday, his opening tee shot found the left fairway bunker. He got up-and-down from behind the left side of the green with his third shot and two-putted for a bogey. After settling down, he made a birdie on the 15th hole to get back on track, then holed a 12-foot birdie putt on the par-3 17th to return to red figures. After making the turn, play was suspended by a sudden downpour while he was on the par-3 2nd hole. Following a two-hour delay, he was slightly affected by the rain and the interruption, resulting in a bogey on the 3rd hole. At that point, the tournament committee suspended play again due to lightning. After resetting mentally overnight, Wang resumed play early this morning with a conservative strategy. On the 180-yard par-3 8th hole, he hit a 7-iron to within four feet of the pin and converted the birdie putt. Then, on the final hole, his second shot from behind the left side of the flag was chipped to within one foot of the cup, leading to another easy birdie. His total score improved to 7-under-par, making him the sole leader.
Tsai Shang-kai, who completed both rounds yesterday (67 in the second round), along with Liu Yu-jui (68 in the second round) and Thailand’s Pattanan Bruminhent (69 in the second round), who both completed their second rounds this morning, are tied for second place at 138, 6-under-par, just one stroke behind the leader. Mizuno-sponsored player Hsieh Tung-hung, who also completed his second round this morning with a score of 71, is alone in fifth place at 139, 5-under-par.
Japan’s Ryo Noro (68 in the second round), Lee Shih-hung (70), Chang Che-yu (71), Lu Sun-yi (72), and Japan’s Yuya Tokumitsu (73) are tied for sixth place at 140, 4-under-par, after two rounds.
The cut was made at a two-round total of 146 (+2), with 56 players advancing to the final two rounds. The tournament committee also announced that Round 3 would begin at 11:30 a.m. with a two-tee start from the 1st and 10th holes. The leading group is scheduled to tee off at 1:00 p.m.
