The ThreeBond Yeangder Challenge – Taipei Station concluded its final round today at Taipei Golf Club. Battling strong winds and dry course conditions, Hsieh Ting-wei delivered a composed performance, firing a 1-under-par 71 to finish at 4-under 140 over two rounds. He claimed the champion’s title and NT$150,000, and was the only player to finish under par for both rounds. Tsai Chen-kai shot a 74 for a total of 146 (+2), finishing six strokes behind in second place and earning NT$75,000.
Chan Chia-han and Hsieh Tung-hung both shot 74 and 76 respectively for a two-round total of 147 (+3), sharing third place. Tsai Kai-jen and Chen Chieh-sheng each carded 76 for 148 (+4) to tie for fifth.
Among amateurs, Kuo Shih-chi shot a 79 today for a 153 total, finishing tied for 18th on the professional leaderboard and capturing the amateur title. He received additional prizes including five dozen SRIXON Z-STAR XV balls sponsored by DUNLOP and an OMNiX golf bag sponsored by Shang Chung International Co., Ltd.
This marks Hsieh Ting-wei’s second victory of the season on the ThreeBond Challenge Tour. The NT$150,000 winner’s check lifted him back to the top of the season money list, which he had slipped from last week. His current total stands at NT$534,499, followed by Tsai Kai-jen (NT$420,395), Lee Jui-shen (NT$418,000), Lin Da-you (NT$270,000), and Hsieh Tung-hung (NT$254,898).
The final event of the 2025 ThreeBond Challenge Tour, the Elite Challenge Tour Finale, will return to Taipei Golf Club on November 19–20. It will be the decisive event for the money title, as Hsieh Ting-wei seeks to defend his top spot against closest rivals Tsai Kai-jen and Lee Jui-shen.
Lin Jui-chang, Chairman of Taiwan Fu Hsing Industrial Co., Ltd., continues to offer bonuses of NT$500,000, NT$300,000, and NT$200,000 to the top three finishers on the year-end money list. Additionally, the top five players on the Challenge Tour’s money list will earn direct entry to next year’s Taiwan Tour.
Today’s conditions at Taipei Golf Club were even tougher than yesterday—stronger winds, narrow fairways, and tricky green reads made scoring difficult, with only two players finishing under par.
The 25-year-old Hsieh Ting-wei, who turned professional in September last year, expressed gratitude to his parents for their years of support, to his coach for guidance, and to Gold Workshop Golf Equipment for sponsorship. He was thrilled to earn his second Challenge Tour win, saying that the course’s demanding conditions brought out his best short game and putting over the two rounds.
“The wind was strong both days,” he said, “but thanks to the experience from the Yeangder TPC Championship and Mercuries Taiwan Masters last month—both played in windy conditions—I was already used to handling it. My chipping, which used to be my weakness, suddenly clicked. I just told myself to execute each shot calmly; the victory felt destined.”
He carded four birdies and three bogeys for a 37–34=71. His birdies came on par-5s Nos. 2 and 15 (both two-on, two-putt), and Nos. 7 and 14 (chip-and-putt). He also saved pars at Nos. 5 and 6 with precise chip-putt recoveries. By the turn, he led Tsai Kai-jen by three and Tsai Chen-kai and Chen Chieh-sheng by four. The chasing pack couldn’t close the gap as Hsieh maintained steady play and stretched his lead through the back nine.
He cited the par-4 12th as the turning point: “The wind was especially strong there. There’s water on the right and trouble left. My drive leaked right onto the path—luckily not into the water. The second shot went over the green, but I chipped back to two feet and made par. That par saved the round. After that, I relaxed and birdied 14 and 15 to widen the margin.”
The ThreeBond Yeangder Challenge was single-stop title-sponsored by Yeangder Group, marking the 8th stop of the 2025 TPGA ThreeBond Challenge Tour and the second-to-last event of the season. The total purse was NT$1 million, with NT$150,000 for the champion and NT$75,000 for the runner-up. Yeangder Group also hosted the July event at Suncity Golf Club.
ThreeBond, a Japan-based multinational manufacturer specializing in professional adhesives, has been the title sponsor of the TPGA Challenge Tour for 11 consecutive years. The 2025 ThreeBond TPGA Challenge Tour continues to feature nine tournaments throughout the season.
