The 2024 ThreeBond TPGA Challenge Tour Final Station, the T.C. Chen Elite Challenge Tour, successfully concluded yesterday (November 28) at the Miramar Golf Country Club. Today (November 29), the 18-hole Pro-Am and the award ceremony for the ThreeBond Challenge Tour Prize Leader and second- and third-ranked players were held.
Su Ching-hung, who won four titles in this year’s Challenge Tour, was crowned the ThreeBond Challenge Tour Prize Leader and received a TWD 500,000 bonus sponsored by Lin Jui-chang, Chairman of Taiwan Fu Hsing Industrial Co. Hsiao He-yu, ranked second in the annual prize standings, received a TWD 300,000 bonus, while third-ranked Chen Chieh-sheng was awarded TWD 200,000.
Su Ching-hung’s four victories this season set a record for the most titles in a single season and the highest single-season total prize money, surpassing the TWD 763,833 earned by Wang Wei-hsuan in 2020.
Today’s 18-hole Pro-Am featured 29 professional players paired with 88 amateur participants in a team scramble format. The team led by professional player Chen Ke-yi and three amateur players emerged as champions.
During the evening gala for the Pro-Am, the award ceremony for the ThreeBond Challenge Tour Prize Leader and the second- and third-ranked players took place.
The event was attended by Katsuyuki Uematsu, President of ThreeBond Hong Kong; Hirokazu Taichi, Branch Manager of ThreeBond Taiwan; Chen Tze-chung, Executive Director of the ThreeBond Challenge Tour; Chen Rong-xing, Chairman of the TPGA;
and TPGA Vice Chairman Chen Yuan-che.
Lin Jui-chang, Chairman of Taiwan Fu Hsing Industrial Co., has supported the prize leader bonuses for the TPGA Taiwan Tour and ThreeBond Challenge Tour for six consecutive years. Since last year, Lin has increased the bonuses to TWD 500,000, TWD 300,000, and TWD 200,000 for the top three players in both tours, totaling TWD 2 million annually. From 2019 to 2021, Taiwan Fu Hsing provided TWD 300,000
for the prize leaders of both tours, increasing this to TWD 600,000 in 2022. Starting last year, the additional bonuses for the top three prize leaders were introduced. The top three players in the annual prize standings of the Challenge Tour also secure automatic qualification for next year’s Taiwan Tour.
The top three players in the 2024 ThreeBond Challenge Tour prize rankings are:
1. Su Ching-hung – TWD 887,500
2. Hsiao He-yu – TWD 434,962
3. Chen Chieh-sheng – TWD 386,539
ThreeBond, a Japanese multinational specializing in adhesives, has been the title sponsor of the TPGA Challenge Tour for 10 years. This partnership was introduced by former TPGA Chairman and current Challenge Tour Executive Director Chen Tze-chung, marking a rare and remarkable collaboration. ThreeBond has supported Chen Tze-chung for 41 years.
This year’s ThreeBond TPGA Challenge Tour consisted of nine events. The first eight offered a total prize fund of TWD 1 million each, with TWD 150,000 awarded to the winner. The ninth and Final Station featured a total prize fund of TWD 1.5 million, with TWD 270,000 for the champion.
Katsuyuki Uematsu revealed that ThreeBond will continue as the title sponsor of the Challenge Tour next year.
